So at the end of this journal, please just tell me what you think...

So I've made up my mind to go to Nekocon next weekend (Nov 6-8). Cuz Nekocon is awesome and I haven't been in so long (I think it's been like 6 years!). Of course, there're costs associated with that (gas, registration price, food, etc.). We're talking maybe $200 here. But I've made up my mind and I'm going, so that's pretty much a sunk cost in my book (oooh, economics terms...).

In order to make the most of my time at Nekocon, I'm going to need to go home sometime between now and then to pick up some stuff. I should have picked them up last time I went home, but I'm kinda ditzy and I forgot. So now I'll have to spend a bunch more money on gas just to grab a few things. So yeah.
Most importantly, I need the boots I want to rave in, because otherwise my feet will die. I'm thinking of asking my parents to mail me my boots, which would save me a lot of time and money (sowwy Flynn). But the problems there are (1) I'd be making my parents dig through my horrible, horrible closet to find these boots, and (2) it's not right to make my parents go through the effort and money of shipping my boots to me. So what do you guys think I should do about that?

And how does this relate to pumpkins?
Well, I was planning to go into town tomorrow to pick up a pumpkin to carve for the campus pumpkin carving contest, and so I can roast some seeds. But then I would also have to buy some knives to carve the pumpkin with, and some salt for the seeds (the dorm has some community pans I can use, so at least I don't have to worry about that). So again this all comes down to MONEYS. I really wanna carve a pumpkin and roast seeds, but I don't know if that would be economically responsible, considering that I'm going to be spending a bunch of money to go to Nekocon soon. ):

So what's everyone else's opinion? How should I handle my boots-getting? And would it be wise to go buy a pumpkin and carving tools?

P.S. School's going well, I think. It's been hard keeping up with 5 classes, and some emotional turmoil, but I'm doing alright. Just keepin' busy-!
