Been a while, hasn't it? And for that I only have myself to blame, oh my...;;

I've been keeping myself busy during my "internet time" with Tumblr! More specifically, I was involved with a Final Fantasy roleplaying community known as FFTumblr. It was a lot of fun to be a part of! But now I feel I need to move on from it so that I can get back to focusing on school and life and such (but if anyone is into roleplaying and/or Final Fantasy- that is the group to join!).

You probably don't know this, but just because I've been neglecting my dA doesn't mean I've stopped drawing! In fact, quite the opposite is true- as a member of FFTumblr, I was drawing and posting doodles almost every day! Just to tumblr, instead of here. o 3 o;; So currently my task is to post a bunch of those doodles here to dA and resume activity here! The only problem is being selective (I literally have hundreds!); I have to decide which ones to post, not just based on quality, but also on how specific to FFTumblr and our inside-jokes they are (will anyone else actually enjoy them?)... Also I'm trying to decide whether to organize these into a few large dumps, or into many posts? Once I've decided that, I mean the art is there, so it's just a matter of uploading it.

In case you guys are curious about FFTumblr, and my place in it:

I started off playing Lord Braska, the High Summoner from FFX; I had some pretty dope times like that, but I ended up giving that up when I decided to play...

Yu Yevon, a powerful summoner and the once-ruler of the now-ruined city of Zanarkand (also from FFX). I have to say, playing Yevon was REALLY fantastic. He's a character that appeared in-game as little more than a... floating beetle-tick-spider-blob? But it's canon that he was a human, and a damn powerful one, before you see him reduced to that. So I developed the human, pre-game counterpart to the tickblob. Heheh... I put a lot of love into writing him, not going to lie. I  even have a Wiki Page about him on our own FFTumblr Wikia.

I also played Hilda from FFII for a while on FFTumblr, but now I've moved on to make an independent rp blog for her. She's a really lovely lady, and a fun character to flesh out as well! That's my opinion, anyway- but it's a shame that FFII isn't more popular...

And finally, I have a tumblr blog that's just for me. It's... sort of self-indulgent and disorganized, and full of reblogs and really odd humor, but I tend to post a lot of doodles on it (and I'll have nights where I get drunk and take requests), so you're welcome to follow me, if you dare.

Uh... I think that's all I have to say?

Oh yes- and I'll be getting rid of a lot of old art, and reshuffling my gallery. Sorry if that's any inconvenience.

It has been, I think, months since my last journal entry? I think it was the beginning of the spring semester that I wrote it-! My goodness, that won't do.

I promise that I am still alive, and still making art!

Actually, most of my recent "art updates" have been on the Final Fantasy rp group I've joined, FFTumblr. I tend to draw a lot of fanart of the happenings on there and post them to the group~ There's a lot of Braska fanart, since I play him (that probably means I am very vain). Slowly but surely, I will compile and post them here, though I fear some of the jokes/fun will be lost on everyone outside of FFTumblr...

But hey~! I've been talking with a dear friend, and we've decided to get a table at Nekocon this year. It'll be my first convention art table~! So I might post previews of the prints I'll be selling. :3

I haven't much to report about "life" I'm afraid. Despite my begging around town, I still haven't a job, which has me worried. I've been keeping myself busy by FFTumblr-ing and drilling myself to get better at art. I'm still stressing about what exactly I'm doing with my life, and if I'll ever be able to feed myself (the no-job thing isn't helping those anxieties > >;; ). But I press on! Gaman! I really am too blessed to be complaining, so all I can do is my best, right~?

Now, since I've been neglecting my dA, I have a lot of messages to catch up to- I'm sorry about that! I don't have the patience to sit and respond to every one, I'm afraid. But I will catch up.

I'm back at school now, woo!

I've tentatively decided to stay at my college (where the scholarship is). The plan is try to squeeze as much art-related knowledge as I can out of the staff, and meanwhile try to build my skills and study outside of my school curriculum. To that end, I'm currently taking an online course from MCAD on HTML (and then the follow-up course on CSS). I'm already feeling a lot better knowing that I'm learning a marketable skill of some sort. It's scary worrying about whether I'll be able to feed myself in the future!

Hey... I guess I'm technically an MCAD student now, eh guys? ;D

On a less-fortunate note, my car just cost me a crapload of money. D: I took my car (Chewy) to get an oil change and to fix some start-up issues. It turned out he needed a new battery, which I was prepared for... but then it turned out he also needed new rear breaks and his shocks were leaking. And... ugh... I hate that I have no choice but to trust mechanics. On the one hand, lots of money hangs in the balance, but if he's right and I don't pay him, I could end up killing myself. Chewy also needed a new front tire, so I got that for him too. @__@ Now... I am so broke. But I still decided to take advantage of a JoAnne sale to buy Katara fabric.

Oh! Oh yeah. I'm cosplaying Katara. I'm most excited about being in an Avatar group with my bestie Aly who will be cosplaying Azula. This is hard to get across if you don't know her, but OMG adFJGSFGJFADGKAdfkdflkga She's PERFECT for Azula! SO EXCITED TO SEE HER.
Oh, and it's her bithfday today, and also kei-poi's birthday. HAPPY BIRFDAY GUYS!!!

As for arts-
Assuming my art courses produce nothing worth showing (that tends to happen), I will be doing some self-motivated exercises and practices and share those.
Not sure if I still have my job in the Costume Shop this semester. Hopefully I do.  


I'm pumped for this semester! The "pumped" might simmer down a few weeks in once the exhaustion sets in, but I'll do my best.

BAD NEWS EDIT:
It seems my entire drawing portfolio from last semester has either been stolen, thrown out, or just removed from the drawing studio. D: Currently I'm asking around/searching the art department for it, but it's not looking good. So I guess it's been thrown out.
I'm confused as to why anyone would throw it out though, as it was all gathered neatly in a portfolio with my name on it, on my shelf space with my name on it.

There is a plus side- the only piece that wasn't in there is my favorite piece from the class, which I accidentally left tacked to the wall. So I have retrieved that, and once I figure out a good method to put it online (it's sort of an awkward shape, and is honestly better in person), I'll post it. So at least I have that.
